About Us-

In the year 1956, the department started functioning as a Statistical Cell under the Development Commissioner. Thereafter in 1963 the department was declared as a minor department without financial & authority to appointment.
The Department of Economics Statistics is the apex Statistical organization in the State for strengthening the State Statistical System. Basic functions of the Department are collection and compilation of various Socio-Economic information to build up data base at both State and District levels, as well as dissemination of data in the form of periodical publications and reports to cater planning and administrative needs at all levels.

State Domestic Product

The SDP is defined as the aggregate of the economic value of all final goods and services produced within the state in a year. It is to be noted that while computing State Income only such of the economic goods and services that can satisfy socially accepted human wants are considered.

Economic Census

It is the counting of all the entrepreneur and establishments involved in any economic activities within the jurisdiction of the country

MAP

Arunachal Pradesh located in north eastern India has twenty five districts and it's known as 'THE LAND OF RISING SUN' . The state has its capital in Itanagar.

RTI

Under the Arunachal Pradesh Right to Information Rules 2005 any citizen can seek information on government matters making an application to the competent authorities.

CO-ORDINATION

AADHAAR

The department has been entrusted as nodal department for enrolment of Aadhaar. As of now, more than 85% of targeted population has been enrolled and Aadhaar numbers generated.State Report

CENSUS

The department has been designated as the nodal department for conduct of population census. The census is conducted after an interval of 10 years.

PRICE

Prices of essential commodities are collected weekly from seven (7) urban centres in the State. After scrutiny, the data are uploaded offline/online mode in CSOs portal.

VITAL STATISTICS

NATIONAL SAMPLE SURVEY

The department is responsible for conducting survey related to NSS (both Central and State sample) in the entire State as per the schedules designed by the MoSP&I, GoI.

PUBLICATION

The department brings out annual reports on the basis of information received from various source offices as Statistical Abstract etc.
